Every order placed with Daughters of India helps support our charity partner, Sewing the Seeds. Through this partnership, we donate $5,000 every month, helping to provide fair wages, skills training, and opportunities for women to learn and work in a safe, supportive environment.
Thanks to your support, Daughters of India’s contributions have helped employ ten women so far through Sewing the Seeds, a number we hope to see grow, step by step, in the years to come.
Recently, some of these women crafted our market bags and recycled sari bags, simple, everyday pieces that carry their care and craft into your hands, while bringing consistent work to the workshop.
Yearly Training
Last June, the annual women’s training program began once again. This year, twelve women took part, learning sewing techniques and gaining practical experience. It’s always a special time, filled with new friendships, laughter and shared stories.

A Vision for Gentle Growth
Looking ahead, Sewing the Seeds hopes to expand slowly and sustainably, whether by moving to a larger space or opening a second small workshop, so that more women can join the team and access safe, reliable work close to home.
Some of the women are also stepping into new roles, helping with organising orders, managing materials and handling daily operations. These moments of trust and leadership help strengthen the team and build confidence from within.

Alongside work and training, Sewing the Seeds continues to offer regular health check-ups, menstrual health workshops, English classes and financial literacy sessions. This meaningful support helps the women feel informed, confident and supported, both at work and at home.
